WHERE, WHEN, WHY?
A group of travellers from 5 different countries have decided to challenge the way we look at tourism, through documentation of alternative experiences in the world of Adventure!
We will begin our journey in Denmark and end up in Thailand.
We depart in the summer of 2022 and expect to arrive in the early 2024.
We will obtain and share as much knowledge as we can, and we will contribute to our followers and whomever we pass by with as many stories, films, pictures, and good memories as we can gather.
It is time to rejoin in the name of adventure, and it is time to learn how to travel in this new world.

HOW WE DO IT
Transportation
We are traveling in a firetruck from1960.
We chose this vehicle because of its beauty, but also because of its simplicity. Cars from back in the days are more mechanic and easier to fix when they break down - which they will.
The truck is equipped with small kitchen gear, bunk beds, an icebox, and a tent. Not the most luxurious, but enough for Ther PICNIC Club.
The truck appears as it did back in the sixties, but the engine is a new, modified Landrover engine, that can run on used, filtered cooking oil!

Route and planning
As we are all working in the field of travel somehow, but (admitted) we are not experts in every country on the way, we have decided to join forces with local tour operators and travel agencies. A local Advisor supports us in each country we visit. As local travel experts, they got the perfect options of suggesting exciting things to see on the road, give us travel tips and tricks and council us on everything from visa procedures to travel restrictions.
Financing
The expedition is mainly self-financed so far.
We do work with sponsors as well, which you can read about here.
When our first episode is fully produced, we hope to collaborate with a fairly wide range of broadcasters.
Safety
Every member in the group is fully vaccinated. We will be in close contact with embassies and local authorities on the way to make sure that every safety requirement is met and that we can travel freely but responsibly. We have decided to partner with three shipping companies to avoid certain "danger zones", highly restricted areas, and difficulties related to visas on the route. Therefore, we will be crossing the Caspian Sea, Gulf of Oman, Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal, and the Andaman Sea on a Freightership. This is called "Freighter-travel" and might also be a crucial way for other travellers to travel in a more eco-friendly way in the future.
