The Story
The video above, is the first one ever taken from the base of Huckleberry Days, in the jungles of Ranong (one of the most untouched and undiscovered jungles in southern Thailand).

With Huckleberry Days, curiosity is the keyword.
We believe, that every day in the perfect journey matters and that they should be different from each other.
The right balance between adventure, decompressing and fun, is what makes the days in your journey, the days of your life.

The name Huckleberry, comes from one of the most read children's adventure-books ever written.
It is basically about a young child, running away from home and ending up in an epic adventure, travelling through new and different landscapes while meeting new people and cultures, without looking back.
​
That feeling of adventure, new surroundings and experiences that could easily be taken out of a childhood adventure-story, is exactly what we try to bring to our own adventures. And yours!
When we are not traveling Asia, to optimize our current experiences and seek inspiration for new ones, we are often located in bigger cities, in front of computer-screens with our back-office-team, making sure, that everything in our business runs smooth and no links are missing between the days of adventure we provide our costumers.

But when time is there and the big thoughts and new ideas needs to be put together, it is done in the heart of our original base in Ranong, a secluded cabin in the jungle. No phones, no WiFi and no disturbance from the outside world.

As a responsible tour operator, we vow to work hard to ensure that our operation will benefit the host communities, local and national economies, and will have a minimal impact on the natural environment.
We adhere to the guidelines set out by the UNWTO - World Committee on Tourism Ethics and follow its Global code of ethics.

Create partnerships with small locally owned companies, rather than big, fat, international or foreign owned ones.

Actively ban tour guide and passenger participation in commercial sexual activities and illegal drug use on our tours.

Actively discourage the participation of our groups in activities exploiting animals - wild or domestic. This includes zoos, aquariums, some breeding farms, & horse and carriage rides. We strongly recommend ethically and ecologically responsible alternatives, such as responsible whale and dolphin watching operations, or horse riding where animals are well cared for. Elephant-riding is a damn no-go!

Use local operators that adhere to our Responsible Travel Philosophies and provide the best service possible to our travelers and staff.

Support the prevention of child exploitation in tourism.

Encourage fair employment practices.

Consider that Elephant, Whale and Dolphin shows, encourage the illegal capture of these wild animals, from the wild, to sell to these shows for human entertainment.

Reduce the carbon footprint whenever possible in your everyday life to help minimize climate change.

Avoid resorts and support locally owned guest houses and homestays.
​
Support Community Based Tourism Initiatives. The latter assist locals in benefiting from, and control, the tourism that occurs in their area.

Go paperless - use online resources to plan and book your trip, and then, when necessary, print out maps and other materials at home on recycled paper.
​
Respect people's privacy while taking photographs. Ask for permission before taking a photograph.
​
Not remove or damage native flora and fauna, whether in the forms of seeds, cuttings, roots, dried shells, or coral.
​
Seek for and support locally owned businesses, to ensure maximum benefit from your spending to the community.
​
Respect native marine life such as star fish, turtles, coral & dolphins and be aware of the depletion of lobster populations from overfishing in the Andaman Sea.
​
Carefully choose activities that are animal-friendly and do not encourage or support mistreatment of animals.
​
Encourage others to become responsible travelers.
